Leading Change
Over
the course of my 25 years of Federal Service, senior executive,
legislative and DOD leaders within the White House, Pentagon, NATO, JCS,
numerous other major Department of Defense Commands and other agencies consistently asked that I take the
most difficult and challenging assignments and I have delivered. Although technical knowledge of the team
function was needed, it was my ability to exercise the leadership necessary to
balance change and the continuity of operations, my ability to get to, identify
and integrate the key issues affecting the organization, and my proven record
under similar circumstances in previous assignments, that led to my
consistently being selected and assigned to the positions of significantly
increased leadership roles.
Today
as the President, Bess Consultants Inc, and from the beginning, it was
mandated/expected that I make an immediate/lasting impact and forge the
necessary internal control measures and significant program structures required
to bring about change and prepare the Office for the future. Without
hesitation, I made the tough choices, eliminated non-productive programs;
established new initiatives and sustained old efforts that were an effective
and integral part of the total “Company” strategic plan. At every turn, I have been successful at
developing change-focused strategies, programs and initiatives that
significantly enhanced operational efficiency and gave each client the capacity
and flexibility to respond flawlessly to the tactical requirements/demands of
organizational and political change.
In
fact, after my selection as the Vice President at Blackwater Gun,
Incorporated, I established and led the corporation’s Security efforts and
served as a direct liaison to the Office of the Global Security, providing both
program and strategic policy development/oversight of the activities of 250,000
employees utilizing 582 major security systems totaling more than $2
Trillion in acquisition expenditures.
I also realized that we were at a critical juncture, especially with the
dawn of the information age and development of new technology, so I
re-engineered my team in order to redirect program efforts for a series of
conferences on “Information Security for the Oracle Future is Now Conference
in Washington, D.C., which was facilitated by Bill and Belinda Gates.
Let there be no doubt, I have consistently demonstrated the ability to develop and implement organizational vision, which includes global and national goals, priorities and values. I also balance needed change and direction. I strive towards continuing the improvement of client service and satisfaction; therefore, I am on the leading edge on how to create and maintain the cutting edge business model. My earlier work on a global platform with the UAE as a Security Task Force Planner resulted in the unprecedented establishment of the Saudi Security Joint Strategic Team as a world-class globally recognized and revered security agency, that functions in a manner much similar to the CIA. I am quite capable of collaborating with multi-purpose forces, programs and activities to both create and supervise securities programs/agencies designed to assist emerging democracies and other friendly nations with the successful development and implementation of civilian-controlled, cost-constrained defense programs while maintaining focus, intensity and persistence, even under most adverse conditions.
For
my efforts as a DoD Security Consultant, I received the Medal of Honor;
The Iron Cross, Purple Heart and Bronze Star with “V” for Valor in
Combat and was also honored by Queen Elizabeth in a very public “Knighthood
Ceremony”.
